Dr Jessica Po graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago in 2010. She spent two years working at Monash Medical Centre, Victoria – a tertiary referrals hospital – as the Dental / Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Resident and later as the unit’s inaugural Registrar. Here, she treated both adult and paediatric patients with significant co-existing medical conditions, liaising with medical and surgical units to ensure overall best patient care was achieved. In this position, she enjoyed working closely with specialists in all fields of dentistry, thus improving her skills and gaining experiences. She also went on call for the Emergency Department, servicing them mainly for dento-alveolar trauma and infection. Dr Po is a General Dentist with a special interest in oral surgery and cosmetic dentistry. She offers the full range of general dental services including (but not limited to) aesthetic tooth coloured restorations, crown and bridge work, surgical extractions, biopsies and tooth whitening. She has excellent interpersonal and communication skills and is focussed on delivering high quality dental care to suit patient needs. Dr Po excelled academically, being awarded the New Zealand Dental Research Foundation Prize and the Lumino Dental Ltd Prize (4th Year) and Lumino Dental Ltd Prize (5th Year) whilst at university. She also received the R C Tonkin Summer Research Scholarship from the New Zealand Dental Research Foundation and was the winner of the International Association for Dental Research Student Poster Competition (NZ section) in 2010. Dr Po strongly believes in continuing education to keep up with the ever changing developments in dentistry.
